FORBES PUBLISHES ARTICLE HEADLINED: "ANTHEM BLUE CROSS PROFITS SOAR AS PATIENTS POSTPONE CARE IN PANDEMIC"

Forbes has published an article reporting that Anthem’s profits doubled to $2.3 billion in the second quarter ending June 2020 as elective procedures were cancelled or postponed due to the pandemic. The article quoted Anthem as attributing its increased profits to “reduced healthcare benefit utilization during the Covid-19 pandemic” in both its commercial and government benefits, including its Medicaid and Medicare Advantage products.

Unfortunately, the attorneys of Whatley Kallas, LLP are seeing health insurance companies, including Anthem, deny and underpay legitimate claims of our provider clients, a practice that no doubt adds to the profits of Anthem and other health insurance companies.
